InsideSales.com (News - Alert), a provider of cloud-based, sales automation and predictive dialer analytics solutions like PowerDialer for Salesforce, has just been issued a new patent from the United States Patent Office for its Web-based phone services technology.
The U.S. Patent No. 8,325,738, known as Apparatus System and Method for Web-based Phone (News - Alert) Services, details a technology for the use of any auxiliary function of a Web-based phone call after the call has been made. It also protects any auxiliary function powered during a call including initiating a call recording, playing a pre-recorded voicemail, bridging a call, and creating a third-party conference call.
The technology is significant for every industry that uses Web-based telephony features including the inside sales and telemarketing industry.
"This patent further solidifies InsideSales.com as a communications and sales automation leader," said Dave Elkington, CEO and founder of InsideSales.com, in a statement. "These functions create a more efficient and powerful sales automation technology and protect our technology of creating any kind of auxiliary function after a web-based call has been placed."
The new patent comes on the heels of another similar patent the company received in January 2012 for its lead response technology. The lead response patent includes the ability to detect online activity and contact the user in conjunction with a preferred or optimal response plan, such as initiating a return call as soon as possible, the company added.
Both these patents are designed to address the demands from sales process for driving effective lead responses. They help sales companies much more quickly respond to a lead and dynamically manage that response as it occurs.
