ICTBroadcast Version 3.4 Adds Android Support

By David Delony, Contributing Writer

ICTBroadcast has announced that it is supporting Android (News - Alert) with the release of its new voice broadcasting product, ICTBroadcast Version 3.4. The application lets users create voice recordings, groups of contacts, and to run a campaign using an autodialer.

Users that are already utilizing ICTBroadcast’s fax broadcasting software should have a username and a password. The product also requires the company’s URL to REST (representational state transfer ) Web services.

When users fire up the autodialer, they’ll only have to configure it once with their username, password and the location of the ICTBroadcast server. Once that’s done, users can upload their own voice recordings to the server with the ability to preview them first.

When they’re ready to start the campaign, users can import their contacts from the Android phone. The Campaign form also has some innovative features.

“The Campaign form allows users to create a voice message campaign in three simple steps: Set a name for the campaign, select voice recording and select contact group from the dropdown, and finally clicking Run campaign button to run the campaign. At the moment, there is no option to monitor the statistics and summary of the campaign in Android application,” a company statement said.

Even though telemarketing has a bad reputation outside of the industry -- usually with people who’ve had calls at inopportune times -- it’s evident that mobile technology is changing this field as well. The support for Android allows for a mobile workforce now that what used to sit on a desktop in a cubicle farm can fit in a call center worker’s pocket.

The new version also rolled out a number of features, such as the ability to test a trunk without running a campaign, a GUI log, hard drive usage statistics, a backup module and several bug fixes, to the product.
