The newly released Centrify DirectControl for Mobile is stated to be the first ever easy-to-deploy active directory-based solution for mobile device security that can be accessed through the cloud. By utilizing the features of the recently launched Centrify Cloud Service, the solution helps users centrally secure and manage smartphones and tablets, including iPads and Android (News - Alert) devices via Active Directory infrastructure, skill sets and processes.
The solution uses familiar Group Policy tools together with the Centrify Cloud Service to enforce security settings over a trusted, over-the-air connection and secure access to corporate network services. It is capable of securing and managing not only popular mobile devices but Mac OS X, UNIX and Linux systems as well. It also offers proven, rapid deployment of mobile device management (MDM) to secure company-owned or employee-owned devices.
“The release of DirectControl for Mobile is a major milestone in the delivery of Centrify’s vision of enabling customers to control access from any device to any resource – irrespective if the device or resource is on-premise or in the cloud. In addition to all the security, access controls and compliance measures we offer in the Centrify solutions, customers tell us that the way we deliver on this vision by allowing customers to leverage an existing infrastructure is very compelling and enables them to realize instant results,” stated Centrify CEO Tom Kemp, in a press release.
Centrify added that its hosted management platform makes installation and configuration simple, provides scalable device management, and easily and securely integrates with users’ existing on-premise Active Directory and it does not demand any additional infrastructure. A highly available, redundant service architecture supports around-the-clock operations and enterprise-class scalability.
Users can avail the DirectControl for Mobile for $36 per device per year which also includes technical support and access to feature updates.
Recently, Centrify won the TMC (News - Alert) Cloud Computing Excellence Award and the Centrify DirectControl for Mac OS X earned the Certificate of Networthiness from US Army NETCOM.
