Syniverse (News
- Alert) has signed a multi-year contract with the Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC).
This deal makes Syniverse the preferred roaming, messaging, network and real-time intelligence solutions provider for BTC.
The company has also strengthened BTC's quality of service, enhanced operational efficiencies and improved quality of experience for both BTC's subscribers and the inbound roamers who visit the Bahamas each year.
"BTC is taking full advantage of Syniverse's breadth of solutions to meet and anticipate customer demands today and well into the future, while also realizing the efficiencies of a single source for advanced mobile solutions," said Pablo Mlikota, senior vice president, Caribbean and Latin America, Syniverse.
BTC will use a range of Syniverse’s cornerstone roaming and messaging services as well as its advanced real-time intelligence and next-generation network capabilities.
A suite of real-time intelligence solutions from Syniverse will help BTC proactively identify and solve problems, such as network outages before the user experience is impacted.
The operator will also be able to deliver real-time alerting and rating capabilities that alert subscribers as they use data services at home and while roaming.
"Syniverse brings the best of both worlds -- providing the in-region expertise and solutions to optimize the experience of our subscribers and inbound roamers while also serving as a preferred provider for so many of our mobile support needs, allowing us to remain focused on our top priority: our customers," said Geoff Houston, chief executive officer of BTC.
Syniverse was recently in news for announcing a premier sponsorship of the BBB Mobile Giving Foundation (News - Alert), the organization that helps charities raise funds via mobile devices in support of causes around the globe, including aid for victims of the famine in Africa, the tsunami in Japan and the earthquake in Haiti.
