Enigma Data Solutions, now known as Interica, provides information management software and consulting for data-intensive industries. Target (News - Alert) markets are in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors – however the company has recently expanded to other industries.

It was vital that the company control its intellectual property, and had previously used FlexLM from Flexera to license its products. Enigma needed platform independence as well as other requirements due to product re-architecting for J2EE (Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition).

After careful consideration, Enigma made the switch to SafeNet Sentinel RMS to protect its intellectual property and licenses. SafeNet (News - Alert) provides the company a flexible licensing solution at an economical cost.

Enigma’s customers require flexible solutions to deploy and monitor licensed products, including the ability to use products wherever and whenever they need them. In addition, the Sentinel offering is also multi-platform, is easy to integrate and is language independent, as it tracks and manages.

“The move to Sentinel RMS has made it possible for Enigma to cost effectively protect all of its intellectual property rights whilst providing our customers with very flexible deployment methods,” Peter Copely, managing director, Enigma Data Solutions, explains in a recent statement.

The selection has worked out well. Enigma Data Solutions integrated Sentinel RMS into its Java products, SmartMove and PARS, using the Sentinel Java API.  Enigma has especially benefited from flexible software licensing modules and from license use monitoring. SafeNet’s support allowed Enigma to quickly and efficiently integrate Sentinel RMS into its products.

There are many other reasons SafeNet made sense. Enigma is among many businesses in the oil, gas and petrochemical fields using the Sentinel RMS product. Overall, some 25,000 customers including government agencies and businesses – located in over 100 countries – use SafeNet for improved information security.
