By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Enterprise cloud-computing specialist Salesforce.com has announced Cloudforce 2010-the year's biggest cloud-computing event, to be organized for customers, developers and industry clients on June 22, 2010 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. This event is intended to provide attendees with a roadmap for the future of the cloud-computing industry.

The arrival of Cloud 2, the increasingly collaborative, mobile and real-time next generation of cloud computing services, has stimulated the development of an entirely new economy, and some of the biggest names in technology today are ready to participate in it. Many of these names are to be present at Cloudforce 2010, from technology pioneers like VMware and Dell (News - Alert) to software giants like CA and BMC, along with many surprise guests. All in all, more than 35 Cloud Leaders will be present on the tradeshow floor to share their expertise in 18 breakout sessions.

Salesforce.com (News - Alert) Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff is to deliver the keynote address at 10 a.m. PT. www.salesforce.com/investor is to offer a live audiocast of Benioff's speech as well as a short question-and-answer session, and a live videocast of the speech can be accessed at www.salesforce.com/live/.

At Cloudforce 2010, salesforce.com is to debut its biggest breakthrough to date-Salesforce Chatter, the industry's very first real-time enterprise social collaboration platform and application, will be accessible by all of salesforce.com's more than 77,300 international customers on June 22, 2010. Chatter, in private beta with more than 5,000 customers over the preceding five months, has met with rave reviews.

Chatter is to be a core common feature of Sales Cloud 2, Service Cloud 2 and the Force.com platform. Attendees to Cloudforce 2010 will be able to learn how to maximize investments and explore new offerings across the Force.com platform, Salesforce.com's CRM applications, and partner offerings on the AppExchange 2, which includes the ChatterExchange. Attendees will also be able to interact with experts working at top customer and strategic partner companies, imbibe best practices and success-generating strategies for social-enterprise collaboration success, get hands-on training, and speak with salesforce.com's product experts.

Developers will be able to get the latest regarding innovation with Chatter and how it improves the Force.com platform. Salesforce.com will host the Chatter Hackathon on the night of June 22 as well as the Chatter DevZone to help developers learn how to craft Cloud 2 apps that leverage chatter on Force.com. An area of the expo floor will be set aside to allow developers to network with Force.com developers, experts and partners and examine the new Chatter workbook and cheat sheet.

Salesforce.com partners have been very responsive to the new innovation opportunities Chatter offers, and have delivered more than 24 Chatter-ready apps that can be acquired from the AppExchange 2 in the ChatterExchange-a new social-enterprise app category. This has helped the shift to Cloud 2 to gain even more momentum. To help showcase where enterprise cloud computing is headed, Cloud Leaders at Cloudforce 2010, including 7 Degrees, Accenture (News - Alert), Xactly, Deloitte, Bluewolf and more will also demonstrate their own offerings.
