West IP Communications, a provider of cloud-based IP communication applications and services, has recently stated that its MaxxConnect SIP trunking services are now certified compatible with Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync 2010.

West IP offers a wide range of communications services including MPLS-based application network management, hosted voice, unified threat management, advanced contact center solutions, unified messaging, collaboration tools, and professional services such as cloud services.

Microsoft Lync is a rich client application that provides presence, IM (instant messaging), voice, and ad-hoc collaboration, as well as online meeting capabilities through a single interface. The certification of MaxxConnect SIP trunking with Lync allows West IP Communications ultimately provides a greater variety of IP communications solutions to clients.

MaxxConnect services offered through Microsoft Lync platform offer voice capabilities with flexible trunking options, which also feature built-in continuity tools to help deliver maximum up-time. The solution additionally helps enterprises run efficiently, scale easily, and become flexible in their day-to-day communications.

“Microsoft’s Open Interoperability Program for Lync exists to help ensure a superior customer service experience, interoperability, and support for Lync deployments,” said Laura Howard (News - Alert), senior director, Lync Partner Readiness and Deployments at Microsoft, in a statement.

“Only products that pass rigorous and extensive interoperability testing are certified. West IP Communications’ MaxxConnect solution has met our strict requirements for interoperability with Lync,” Howard added.

As a Microsoft partner, West IP Communications has demonstrated expertise with Lync and brings a broad range of experience in designing Microsoft solutions. The company has also earned a Gold Unified Communications (News - Alert) Competency in the Microsoft Partner Network.  

West IP Communications is the subsidiary of West Corporation; the entity was formed after West acquired Smoothstone in June 2011. West then rebranded Smoothstone to West IP Communications as a measure to unify its unified communications segment.
