USTelecom (News - Alert) has partnered up with The SIP School to offer Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) training to its valued members. A trade association representing service providers and suppliers for the telecom industry, USTelecom’s member-driven approach includes year-round professional development opportunities similar to those offered by The SIP School – all designed to accommodate the schedules of busy professionals and/or those who can’t afford the time to attend longer seminars.
The course is designed with “lively and animated eLearning materials,” and each includes testing and feedback at the end to reinforce the presented concepts for further comprehension.
So what will course registrants learn? An extensive list of things, in fact; registrants will enjoy learning about the following:
· Fundamentals of the SIP protocol
· Quality of service
· VoIP with Firewalls/NATs
· SIP trunking
· Testing and troubleshooting
· Fax over IP (FoIP)
· SIP security, and much more
SIP is inevitably becoming the foundation of many multi-media communications across the world, and the expansion and adoption of unified communications (UC) has further demonstrated just how valuable SIP is and how it works in said communications. It is said to be the underlying theme of VoIP, voice of LTE (News - Alert), as well as the glue keeping IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture together, which major carriers and service providers continue to implement. Additionally, SIP has proven itself to be the standard trunking to the PSTN, trunk peering between IP networks, IP phone support and connection to application servers and supporting IM.
When the course is completed, participants will have the opportunity to become a certified SIP School Associate. By taking an online test, they will join about 1000 other registrants who will also quality for the honor, which is a globally recognized SIP certification among video and voice system manufacturers, service providers, and carriers.
This SIP training is made available for USTelecom members at the USTelecom website. For the full list of The SIP School training programs as well as demos and pricing, click here.
