REDCOM (News - Alert) Laboratories Inc., a company that designs and manufactures reliable and fully interoperable softswitch and other telecommunications systems, will be exhibiting its deployable communications solutions at MILCOM 2011, Nov. 7 to 10, at the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, Md.
REDCOM has specialized in the design and manufacturing of innovative telecommunications products noted for their quality and reliability for over 30 years now. The technologies integrated into REDCOM’s converged network include IPv6/IPv4 dual stack REDCOM switches, secure and non-secure IP and analog end devices (including wired, wireless, ISDN, and radios), a deployed secure gateway application, AS-SIP trunking, SIP trunking, and IP circuit extension.
At MILCOM 2011, REDCOM will be exhibiting its SLICE 2100 softswitch system and the recently announced SLICE IP Micro softswitch. According to REDCOM, SLICE 2100, a converged network solution, also supports AS-SIP signaling requirements for Local Session Controllers (LSC). SLICE IP Micro, on the other hand, redefines tactical communications by integrating key IP Multimedia Subsystem (News - Alert) (IMS) elements and call management functionality into the size of a hardcover book. The SLICE IP Micro solution is a complete dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 VoIP solution, including AS-SIP signaling, in a single platform.
The REDCOM SLICE 2100 is best described as a converged IP/TDM platform with an integrated media gateway supporting legacy protocols, analog lines, and up to 6 E1/T1 trunks and radio connectivity. SLICE IP is a pure IP softswitch core designed to integrate IP Multimedia Subsystem elements to deliver both call management functionality and directory services.
“As a company, we are committed to ensuring that our portfolio of switching systems for the DoD market fully support the AS-SIP requirements as defined by the Unified Capabilities Requirements for telecom switching equipment,” said Dinah Gueldenpfennig, vice president of Planning and Government Program Administration, REDCOM.
According to company officials, AS-SIP provides features unique capabilities for the military such as MLPP for establishing communication with resource priorities, ensuring system and network access and control, and providing precedence and pre-emption policies to ensure connectivity. REDCOM’s portfolio of JITC-certified switching equipment delivers highly secure, interoperable, rugged and reliable VoIP solutions for tactical and strategic applications.
