Turkcell (News - Alert) Superonline, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Turkcell, and a telecom operator in Turkey, continues to develop and invest in the country. The company recently replaced its softswitch technology to support its IP Multimedia System (IMS) and TDM-based business and residential voice services.
This transformation will help the company to move to advanced IP-to-IP switching, session management capabilities, interconnection with its Ericsson IMS network and embedded base of media gateways from Cisco.
Dialogic (News - Alert) helped Turkcell Superonline reduce its capital expenditures and transition to next-generation architecture without service interruption. Dialogic is a Network Fuel company that has been inspiring service providers and application developers to enhance the performance of media-rich communications across the most advanced networks.
Turkcell completed the replacement of its softswitch technology with the Dialogic ControlSwitch System to support its IP Multimedia System (IMS) and TDM-based business and residential voice services.
“We required a highly reliable, scalable, plug-and-play solution, which led us to the Dialogic ControlSwitch System for a cost-effective and operationally efficient way to energize our existing network resources,” Barboros Özdemir, director of corporate business management of Turkcell Superonline (News - Alert), said in a statement.
“Dialogic’s experience with successfully transitioning service providers like us from end-of-life legacy switching platforms made us confident our customers would be minimally impacted. Our VoIP business will continue to grow long-term with Dialogic’s solutions and support,” Özdemir added.
When Cisco (News - Alert) announced the end-of-life for its PGW 2200 softswitch product, Turkcell Superonline needed to find a replacement for this core part of its infrastructure. The Dialogic ControlSwitch System is a carrier class IP switching solution capable of offering a smooth migration path from existing TDM networks to all-IP infrastructure.
Turkcell recently also announced its new Corporate Social Responsibility project, ''Developers of the Future.'' The project aims to guide the dynamic youth population towards becoming mobile application developers and effective players in the ever growing global application market.
