Since IBM’s (News - Alert) recent acquisition of Emptoris, the Emptoris Empower Europe 2012 event is being integrated into the IBM Smarter Commerce Global Summit this week in Madrid. The Smarter Commerce Global Summit provides businesses and practitioners with the insight and resources necessary to understand today’s customers and effectively connect with them in an ever-changing landscape.
This is an exciting opportunity for Emptoris to gather customers, subject experts and executives in an environment where it can showcase Emptoris’ technologies and solutions. Empower Europe 2012 will continue to provide an opportunity to share and learn best practices and innovative strategies in strategic supply management, including solutions in spend analysis, sourcing, contract management, supplier lifecycle management, telecom expense management and services procurement.
The conference will feature a solution center, a single unified showcase and discussion area for IBM executives, customers, prospects and business partners; a demo zone, where Emptoris product experts will demonstrate the Emptoris Suite, program management, complex categories (TEM and services procurement), and sell-side contracts solutions; an Emptoris customer lounge, where attendees will have a networking opportunity; and executive meetings, where Emptoris customers can meet one on one with the Emptoris executive team.
About 1,200 delegates are expected to attend the Summit in Madrid, including more than 600 customers and 125 business partners. Sessions include “How Smarter Commerce Source (News - Alert) to Pay Pays Off,” “Using the Cloud to Transform Your Value Chain Through Global Supply Chain Visibility,” “CPO Challenge: Manage and Measure,” and “Roundtable: Building Your Business Case for Smarter Commerce Supply Chain Initiatives.”
The Summit will focus on innovations and trends in mobile, social, ecommerce, customer experience, analytics, management and more. A recent study by Visage, titled, “Dirty Little Secrets,” examines and highlights instances of how corporate employees misuse company funds. Visage is one of the leaders in enterprise mobility management (EMM) that enables businesses to take control of their mobile budget and inventory.
Some of the dirty little secrets uncovered include that the average company spending per year on its wireless bills, how much the average individual wireless employee costs a company per year in wireless costs and out of the total amount, how much is spent needlessly due to mis- or under-allocated text, data and voice plans, un-provisioned international roaming, unauthorized downloads and more.
