The Emptoris Empower 2012 customer conference is getting a boost from its integration with the IBM (News - Alert) Smarter Commerce Global Summit. This shift is the result of IBM’s acquisition of the telecom expense management solution company and presents an exciting opportunity for Emptoris customers and partners.
According to this Emptoris
blog, Emptoris Empower 2012 will provide customers with the opportunity to share best practices and learn new and innovative strategies in Strategic Supply Management, focusing on such elements as supplier lifecycle management, contract management, strategic outsourcing, spend analysis, services procurement and
telecom expense management.
Companies in attendance will learn how to develop and drive smarter commerce through dedicated keynotes and break-out sessions. Executives will share insights on successes, while also exploring the challenges facing leading procurement organizations in terms of telecom expense management and other strategies.
Attendees can also explore the Solution Center and Demo Zone to meet Emptoris product experts and explore the showcase to see the latest technologies and innovations in this space. Networking opportunities allow for discussions on optimal telecom expense management strategies, market trends, insights and projections in terms of
procurement.
The conference is scheduled for September 5-7, 2012 in Orlando, and Emptoris has already announced the call for speakers.
A first-glance was provided at the IBM Smarter Commerce Global Summit last week in Madrid. A solution center, a single unified showcase and IBM executive discussion area was in place to expand the value of the event. An Emptoris customer lounge offered networking opportunities and an executive meeting place allowed customers to meet with Emptoris executive team members one-on-one.
According to this TMC (News - Alert)
report, roughly 1,200 delegates were expected to attend the event, including more than 125 business partners and 600 customers. The Summit focused on key trends and innovations in social, mobile, customer experience, eCommerce, analytics, management and more.
To expand on the telecom expense management focus, Visage recently published a study, Dirty Little Secrets, that suggests mobility budgets and inventories are being mismanaged by corporate employees. The study examines what the average company is spending in wireless bills, the average employee wireless cost and how much is needlessly spent due to misuse or mismanagement.
