NEBS Servers Profiled

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

NEI has released information about some of its more popular servers recently.

First, for carrier grade NEBS communications systems, there's NEI’s (News - Alert) N-1500 R2 and N-2500 R3 carrier-grade rack mount servers. These offer customers NEBS Level 3 certified products in a small 20-inch deep footprint. These platforms have passed the testing required by today’s telecommunication organizations, company officials say, adding that these 1U and 2U carrier-grade NEBS servers deliver "the most up-to-date performance and reliability while also ensuring an estimated life cycle of nearly five years."

With the ability to install up to three high-end telephony cards, NEI’s NEBS servers allow VARs, ISVs, network equipment manufacturers and OEMs to deliver communications solutions and services at a lower cost by reducing time-to-market and maximizing return on investment.

For the power-optimized carrier-class application platform category, there's the NEI’s N-2710 carrier-grade rack mount server, which offers customers a NEBS Level 3 certified product.

It provides dual socket support for the Intel (News - Alert) Xeon 5600 Series Processor, coupling performance with power efficiency to provide improved performance-per-watt over previous generation rack-mount servers. This high-performing, rugged server shall be an excellent choice for the demanding environment and of the Telco central office, as well as for network data centers.

And for the 2U storage subsystem category, the SN-2500 R2 provides external SAN storage optimized to deliver up to 48 TB capacity with a variety of RAID levels. This 2U storage platform provides an excellent integration path for data storage and disaster recovery for your mission-critical security, storage, networking and communications applications.
