In a significant telecom platform deployment deal, Lightspeed Communications, Bahrain, a fixed line telecommunications operator and an affiliate of France Telecom (News - Alert), has expanded its network by deploying Squire Technologies products and services.
Lightspeed has selected Session Border Controller (SBC) and Media Gateway (News - Alert) solutions from Squire Technologies due to the high performance of Squire over the past 12 months, as well as the success delivered by Squire solutions in several recent telecom platform deployment scenarios.
The operator first deployed the SS7 Media Gateway from Squire in 2010. Building on the success of this solution, Lightspeed approached Squire to find an SBC solution that could support industry standard protocols, allowed for a high level of customization, and would support the operator’s ongoing use of legacy infrastructure.
“Throughout our time with Squire we’ve benefitted from their exemplary support service; their expertise and attention to detail being key reasons why our relationship continues to grow,” said Abdulrahman Ghazal, technical manager of Lightspeed, in a statement.
Squire’s products support a wide range of telecom platform deployment applications, and the company offers a range of support services to enable its customers to choose the most suitable solution for their individual needs.
“With the development of our new solutions, such as the Next Generation Switch, and indeed the continued evolution of products such as the Media Gateway Controller and Session Border Controller, customers are now trusting us to provide the centralized point of their networks,” added Squire’s managing director, Andy Cooper. “This in turn has boosted sales of our support services, as customers want to be assured that help is on hand should they need it.”
With its industry-leading NGN, TDM and IP telecommunications products and solutions, Squire enables telecommunications companies to access VoIP networks and provide signaling transfer points and protocol converters to further extend its customers’ network reach.
