Mavenir Systems (News - Alert), a company that specializes in deploying different solutions including converged IP voice, video and messaging for wireless carriers, recently formed a partnership with Imagination Technologies (News - Alert), a provider of converged telecom platform deployment solutions, to offer IR.92 compliant VoLTE interoperability testing (IOT) for U.S.-based carriers.
The companies have completed IR.92 compliant VoLTE interoperability testing (IOT) of Imagination's HelloSoftV.VoIP mobile device client with Mavenir's IMS-based Converged Telephony Application Server (CTAS).
“We have responded to carriers' needs for rapid commercial deployment of voice and messaging over LTE (News - Alert), and are very pleased to complete VoLTE-interoperability testing on a range of leading OEM devices,” said Terry McCabe, chief technology officer, Mavenir Systems, in a statement.
“Working closely and cooperatively with Imagination Technologies, we have shown that multi-vendor interworking is a key element of the successful roll-out of operator services in the LTE environment.”
“Our ability to partner and innovate in the OEM market is proven and valued by many customers now selecting Mavenir with confidence as part of an overall network transformation strategy," McCabe added.
Mavenir’s product portfolio includes a number of value-added servers such as the Rich Messaging Server (RMS), the Presence and List Server (PRS), and the MMTel-compliant CTAS, that enable mobile operators to deploy new services to meet the evolving communication needs of their users.
Imagination's HelloSoftV.VoIP SDKs delivers multi-platform mobile device solutions for delivering the full range of two-way, real-time communications including Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice Call Continuity (VCC), Video and Voice over IP (V.VoIP), SMS over IP, and Rich Communication Services (RCS). These solutions are fully standards-compliant with 3GPP, Voice over LTE and IR.92 specifications. They incorporate multi-platform HelloSoft (News - Alert) VoIP technology that features Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) and Noise Cancellation (NC) to produce voice quality on 4G mobile devices.
According to Allan Johnson (News - Alert), general manager, HelloSoftV.VoIP at Imagination Technologies, carrier network interoperability is very complex, making the best feature and voice performance difficult to achieve, especially across the diverse range of mobile devices and chipset architectures.
“We created an SDK that is easy for OEM and ODM manufacturers to integrate, portable across all major operating systems, and highly optimized across common 4G processor and modem architectures,” Johnson concluded. “Imagination understands the mobile space very well: more than 750 million mobile and embedded devices from every major brand have already shipped with at least one of our multimedia IP technologies inside.”
