DIGITALK (News - Alert) provides a carrier cloud solution that is ideal for telecom platform deployment scenarios. This is due to the fact that the offering provides carriers with a quick and agile way to upgrade their telecom platforms in order to deploy next generation solutions.
In one such telecom platform deployment situation, DIGITALK has been selected by Eris Telecom, the international carrier unit of Virgin Mobile (News - Alert) Middle East & Africa.
Eris Telecom selected the DIGITALK Carrier Cloud solution to support the routing and management of its international voice traffic. As a result, the telecom company can expand its capacity and services into new territories. The cloud solution also delivers the scalability required to support its growth objectives.
The Carrier Cloud solution from DIGITALK includes all the carrier inter-working capabilities of DIGITALK SBC VoIP Peering (News - Alert). Some of these network capabilities include flexible signaling interworking, SIP session high availability, and dynamic media transcoding. “DIGITALK Carrier Cloud is a quick and agile way to upgrade from legacy systems to proven technology that makes the management and routing of voice traffic more efficient and ultimately more profitable for the business,” said Paul Bassa, VP product marketing at DIGITALK, in a statement.
“As Eris Telecom grows its business across new markets, DIGITALK Carrier Cloud can help it to deliver services in new markets in days instead of weeks or months,” Bassa added.
Thanks to Carrier Cloud, Eris Telecom can arrange its own carrier agreements, set up interconnects, upload rates, and configure routing plans, both on demand and in real-time all without the need for any hardware deployment.
Moreover, the cloud solution offers a low capex approach allowing telcos to expand their international gateway capacities with the flexibility required to grow with a pay-per-use model.“With DIGITALK Carrier Cloud, we get a quick and ready-to-use solution supporting most of our network call routing and management requirements. It simplifies our approach with flexibility and will help us grow our international voice traffic matching our ambitions in the Middle East and Africa,” commented Tariq Siddique, director of Voice Services at Eris Telecom.
