Monaco Telecom, the Monaco-based business of Cable & Wireless Communications, has signed an agreement with Movius (News - Alert) Interactive Corporation, a provider of telecom platform deployment solutions to service providers, in order to host a cloud-based platform that delivers services to non-competing telecom operators across Europe.
The CAFÉ Cloud solution provided by Movius Interactive Corporation will deliver various cloud-based services to Europe's smaller fixed line and mobile operators, helping them reduce fixed IT costs and management complexity by implementing new applications for their customers through the Internet.
Recently, both companies joined together to showcase CAFÉ Cloud at the Telecom Operators of Small States (TOSS) event. The CAFÉ Cloud solution allows multiple applications to be deployed remotely and quickly.
"For all operators it is integral to supply a constant stream of new and innovative applications. Providing these services via the cloud is the perfect solution to ensure agility, cost efficiency and maximum potential and we are pleased to be at the core of this transition in Europe," said Martin Péronnet, CEO of Monaco Telecom, in a statement.
Movius already operates the CAFÉ Cloud platform in the United States. Now, the service will be offered through Monaco Telecom's secure data center facilities to CAFÉ Cloud’s expanding European client base.
Under this partnership, Monaco Telecom will enhance its suite to include a Visual Voicemail capability, which delivers messages from a customer's fixed and mobile accounts to their smartphone as well as myIdentities, which allows users to host their personal and business accounts on a single smartphone.
"Monaco Telecom is at the cusp of business model innovation by providing a hosted Value Added Services platform to non-competing operators. Now operational, other operators can benefit from economies of scale, Monaco's market knowledge and experience as well as CAFÉ's application enablement features," said Dominic Gomez, CEO of Movius.
