Video conferencing provider SightSpeed (News - Alert) is making fast moves to ensure users of all kinds enjoy the video conferencing technology they have to offer, with the introduction of a new no-download version of their video conferencing services.
The development of the new service, to be announced today at CES (News - Alert), "SightSpeed Light" offers video chat services for online social networks like MySpace, Salesforce.com, Hi5, LinkedIn and upcoming networks based on Google’s (News - Alert) OpenSocial platform.
With SightSpeed Light, social network users will have the ability to chat or record and send video messages to other members of the same social network through any standards-based Web browser.
SightSpeed Light will require no downloads or installation as it is being built entirely using Adobe Flash—making it is easily accessible and useable—and making video communication capabilities just a click away for users.
“As growing numbers of people participate in online social-network sites, and with the proliferation of embedded webcams in PCs, Macs, mobile phones and other devices, video communications is quickly moving to the forefront of the social-networking experience. And because no one understands or delivers Internet-based video communications better than SightSpeed, you can expect that our widget—just like our other services—will raise the bar in terms of ease of use and overall performance,” commented SightSpeed CEO Peter Csathy (News - Alert).
SightSpeed is also inviting developers building applications for Google's APIs to work with them to include improved video capabilities in the applications they are developing.
