Organizations today rely on a variety of technological advances in order to drive efficiency. One of those advances which is being increasingly implemented is video conferencing. Companies throughout the world are finding that such technology can not only drive innovation and teamwork, it can also reduce the amount of money spent on travel.
Integrity Auto Specialists is one company in particular that has reaped the benefits of video conferencing solutions. In order to help connect its employees and manage locations in several cities throughout the country, Integrity turned to Sightspeed.
Originally used to conduct interviews, the Sightspeed solution was a smart choice for Integrity whose employees are account representatives and highly skilled auto-body repair specialists that both sell and perform the company’s services at dealerships. The company tends to hire self-starters who must work independently, diligently and without close supervision.
Once Integrity realized how valuable a tool the Sightspeed solution actually was, the company began to rely on its high-quality video conferencing services as an essential tool to help keep employees connected with each other through regular staff meetings and information-sharing seminars.
Steve Bokmiller, Chief Financial Officer and head of IT at Integrity Auto Specialists noted that whenever the company needed to recruit employees around the county, it was getting expensive to travel. Sightspeed proved to be useful in managing the business, interviewing candidates, conferences and meetings.
Bokmiller also highlighted that the quality of the video in real-time was outstanding, especially compared to the slow-motion scan that most webcams would deliver. When a large number of people are present for conference, the firm uses video technology from Sightspeed and Polycom (News - Alert) and an audio-conferencing device, to use as a speaker and microphone.
Integrity Auto’s sales managers and staff conduct weekly meetings, yet face the challenge of dispersed locations. While phone conferencing is available, Bokmiller noted that having a face on the screen is very effective. “It certainly makes a big difference having a face in front of you when you’re having a dialogue,” Bokmiller said.
