This is the age of cloud and virtualization. Cloud services are now being increasingly used in the sales process of businesses of all kinds, while physical meetings are being replaced by virtual meetings and hangouts. And, with solutions like virtual predictive dialer, the ability to efficiently work remotely, or “virtually”, is now a feasible concept.
InsideSales.com (News - Alert), a provider of cloud-based sales automation technology, is trying to revolutionize the way conferences and tradeshows are being held via video conferencing, another factor that is affecting the virtual office trend.
The company recently organized Inside Sales Virtual Summit to showcase the success of virtual conferencing solutions while explaining the impact of these technologies on the sales process of a business. The event had thousands of sales leaders, which ran for seven hours and featured five keynotes speakers and seven tracks of sales topics.
Commenting on the success of the event, Dave Elkington, InsideSales.com CEO, said, "The collaboration of sales influencers on this magnitude has never before been accomplished. And as we continue to host the webinars on demand to reach additional professionals, InsideSales.com just transcended the race of generating quality content for online marketing."
The virtual summit, according to company officials, has accomplished the same goals of a traditional trade show -- influence, leads, and content -- for minimal costs and with minimal lead time, said Ken Krogue, president of InsideSales.com.
The company hosted the event by combining webinar software with technology from virtual trade show company On24. Participants were able to register through the last session and attend the event from their home or office, visit online trade show "booths," watch presentations, network, chat, talk to company representatives and even hang out with their favorite authors and experts in a Google (News - Alert) hangout chat at the end of the day.
Popular social media expert Guy Kawasaki commented on this idea of virtual events.
“From a speaker's standpoint, not having to get on an airplane is everything. And if you think about it, when you go to a large conference, best case, you're going to see the person's slides every once in a while and get a glimpse here and there of the speaker's face on a screen. So you might as well be online, right? And to offer 61 speakers of this caliber in the space of a day... So you know I love this idea," said Kawasaki.
