Composite Software Announces Latest Data Virtualization Software

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Composite Software, a provider of data virtualization performance technologies, announced the launch of Composite 6, a new version of its flagship data virtualization software highlighted by “big data” integration support for the Cloudera Distribution including Apache Hadoop (CDH), IBM Netezza (News - Alert) and HP Vertica data sources.

The new software extends Composite Software's enterprise-scale data virtualization leadership position with unmatched performance optimizations, cache enhancements, new data governance capabilities and ease-of-use features.

With its standardized SQL approach, the software augments specialized MapReduce coding of Hadoop queries. This simplifies integration of Hadoop data and extends the enterprise-wide information analysis and business insight capabilities to include this emerging “big data” source.

“Data virtualization is emerging as an ideal solution for managing today's complex data integration challenges,” said Jim Green, CEO for Composite Software, in a statement. “Composite 6 further extends our position as the leading provider of production-ready, enterprise-scale, high performance data virtualization solutions in use by more than 200 organizations worldwide.”

Composite 6 solidifies Composite Software's position as the data virtualization performance leader. It also has other enterprise-class data governance and usability features that make Composite Software's data virtualization platform the most advanced and enterprise ready today.

“Adoption of Apache Hadoop-based solutions is accelerating as data driven organizations discover the power of this open source technology to extract value from large volumes of structured and unstructured data,” said Ed Albanese, head of business development at Cloudera. “This increases the need to integrate data in Hadoop with traditional enterprise data sources.”

Recently, Composite Software announced the certification of its flagship data virtualization product, the Composite Information Server, with MicroStrategy 9, a provider of business intelligence software. The company also signed a Global Marketing Alliance agreement with MicroStrategy (News - Alert), which includes a broad range of joint marketing programs.
