Pano Logic (News - Alert), a provider of zero client desktop virtualization, announced the results of a desktop virtualization performance benchmark report conducted by Sarrel Group, a technical-assessment consultancy and independent test lab.
Desktop virtualization can provide a user experience equivalent to or better than an average corporate PC when it is delivered by Pano Logic, according to the performance testing report.
Sarrel Group also determined that Pano Logic needs the fewest server resources among the thin clients tested.
“There has been a perception, largely based in historical accuracy, that desktop virtualization performance and user experience suffers compared to PCs,” said Matt Sarrel, principal of Sarrel Group, in a statement.
“However, our quantitative analysis of desktop virtualization offerings demonstrates that Pano Logic has achieved a user experience similar to a PC, while maintaining the security and cost benefits of virtual desktop infrastructure,” Sarrel added.
According to Sarrel Group, Pano Logic outperformed thin clients in many tests and provided a comparable experience to using a typical Windows XP or Windows 7 PC during most tests.
“Pano Logic customers have consistently seen improvements in user productivity and video quality without requiring endpoint firmware updates, processing, or the purchase of new endpoints. Pano System 4.5 was yet another leap forward,” said John Kish, CEO of Pano Logic.
“The results of Sarrel Group testing validate our effort and demonstrate that Pano Logic performance is ready for the computing needs of enterprise knowledge workers,” Kish added.
Sarrel Group tested Pano Logic G2 (News - Alert) against Wyse P20 and Wyse Xenith thin clients and three PC configurations: Windows XP (32-bit) and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) on low and high performance hardware.
Recently, Pano Logic announced that ECCT joined its network of resellers that assist organizations with centralizing their desktop computing infrastructures using Pano Logic's hardware and software solution.
