Nearly 450 Companies Connected to Glowpoint's Global Exchange

Glowpoint (News - Alert), Inc., a global provider of cloud managed video services, has announced that its cloud managed video business-to-business exchange services has reached nearly 450 enterprises.

Officials with Glowpoint said that these companies are now connected to the company's global exchange for business-to-business (B2B) telepresence and video conferencing meetings. This makes Glowpoint the operator of the world's largest multi-vendor, global business-to-business exchange for telepresence and video conferencing.

"Customers want to use telepresence and video conferencing to collaborate with partners and customers as easily as they do today with their phones and the web." Said Stephen Vobbe, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Glowpoint, in a statement.

Vobbe said that the company’s OpenVideo cloud provides managed business-to-business exchange services that enable secure and simple visual collaboration across different networks and video conferencing systems, allowing the customers to realize the full value of their investment in video.

According to company officials, the companies currently connected to Glowpoint's OpenVideo cloud using B2B exchange services include a broad cross section of 30 industries, including banking and finance, healthcare and medicine, manufacturing, law enforcement, hospitality and travel, and technology.

Company officials said that all the companies that are connected can benefit from access to directory and scheduling services to connect with each other via immersive telepresence or video conferencing systems from solution providers such as Cisco, Polycom (News - Alert) and LifeSize.

To date, over 39,000 unique video endpoints are certified and reachable on Glowpoint's B2B exchange.

"The OpenVideo architecture solves the problems of firewall traversal, security, and interoperability between different telepresence and video conferencing systems for business-to-business video calling," said Anil Balani, senior vice president of product development for Glowpoint.

"The growth we are seeing in companies connected to our exchange clearly demonstrates that customers recognize the value of OpenVideo. It enables Glowpoint to be technology agnostic and network neutral, so that we can provide cloud managed video services for the widest range of endpoints and customers," said Balani.
