InfoRelay has announced its newest peering relationship with Amazon in the Los Angeles market.
The addition of Amazon to the network peering arrangements is expected to aid InfoRelay in its efforts to build on current infrastructure. The company believes that this will enable it to become the nation's leading network infrastructure provider for cloud deployment initiatives.
“By adding direct peering to Amazon, we're strategically positioning our network so that our clients who also utilize AWS, Amazon EC2, or Amazon S3 can take advantage of our colocation services and communicate directly with Amazon as part of an overall cloud infrastructure,” said Matt Francis, service provisioning engineer at InfoRelay.
Francis said that the clients that lease rack space from the company within its Equinix (News - Alert) points of presence also have the ability to order a direct cross-connect to Amazon for further network optimization.
InfoRelay Online Systems delivers enterprise-level managed IT services, including colocation, bandwidth, and metro ethernet connectivity. The company improves its clients’ efficiency and profitability through the company's array of reliable IT services and customer support.
”Every major provider and peer we add to our BGP mix gets us closer to our goal of building up our cloud infrastructure and providing the best low latency and fault tolerant network solutions available on the market,” said Brandon Tedder, director of sales at InfoRelay.
The peering with Amazon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Akamai (News - Alert) and a host of other enterprise application providers fits the company’s objective: to improve its position as the premier network operator focusing on cloud application solutions and deployments, Tedder said.
With the addition of connectivity to Amazon and also multiple other providers and peers, the company's network capacity in Los Angeles has grown to 120 gigabits per second (Gbps). Company officials said that this has effectively given the company five times more capacity than its current traffic levels require.
“InfoRelay’s Los Angeles network has grown by leaps and bounds; the latest expansion includes the deployment of a dark fiber ring that circles LA and spans four tier-3 carrier-neutral data centers and many multi-tenant office buildings,” said Russell Weiss, president at InfoRelay.
Last month, the company expanded its Equinix data center footprint in the Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas areas.
