CEVA has partnered with NXP Software (News - Alert) to deliver an enhanced HD voice processing solution for the smartphone market. NXP Software's LifeVibes VoiceExperience software has been integrated with CEVA (News - Alert)-TeakLite family of DSPs to this end.

The new solution has been optimized its technologies in speakerphone and multi-microphone noise suppression, acoustic echo cancellation and voice quality, onto the DSP platform, which is said to have powered audio/voice processing in more than 2 billion devices.

It runs on the CEVA-TeakLite-III DSP, and is already deployed with a major handset OEM for their smartphones product lines. CEVA is the licensor of silicon intellectual property (SIP) platform solutions and DSP cores, and NXP Software specializes in mobile multimedia software.

“There is a clear trend towards enhanced voice quality in smartphones today,” said Nicolas Sauvage, director of Marketing and Sales at NXP Software, in a statement. “The CEVA-TeakLite-4 DSP delivers outstanding performance for these demanding applications, allowing our customers to gain maximum benefit from our VoiceExperience software package, and at lower power consumption.”

The CEVA-specific implementation of NXP Software's VoiceExperience enables CEVA’s customers to easily add HD quality voice processing technology into their existing designs.

The VoiceExperience algorithms can further tap the low power, native 32-bit, high performance voice capabilities for licensees of the CEVA-TeakLite-III and CEVA-TeakLite-4 DSPs for the delivery of better voice clarity and extended battery life.
