Fiberhub Deploys Noction Intelligent Routing Platform

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Colocation and network services provider Fiberhub has recently deployed Noction Intelligent Routing Platform. This route optimization system can detect the optimal path for the network traffic by significantly boosting the network performance. Fiberhub was using manual optimization of their BGP routing decisions before this deployment in a bid to enhance its increase performance and better management of network traffic.

BGP is a technology that selects network paths based on the number of hops traffic must traverse before it reaches its destination. But, this technology does not take into account important factors of network performance and this leads to network congestion and outages. Companies trying to make manual adjustments to the BGP configuration have to spend a lot of time in constant reviews.

In contrast, Noction IRP determines the fastest path for the traffic by analyzing real-time performance metrics through a completely automated process. This process allows 24/7 proactive performance monitoring in addition to allowing fast re-routing of Fiberhub's traffic around major network outages. All of this is successfully completed via an automated process and does not require the manual intervention required to run Fiberhub's network.

“Deploying the Noction IRP platform has made a tremendous difference in the workload necessary to keep our network performance at the high level our customer expect,” said Rob Tyree, Fiberhub vice president, in a statement.

Noction IRP also allows Fiberhub staff to instantly pinpoint and find relevant solutions to the problems. Network engineers can also leverage IRP reporting to monitor and diagnose performance using real-time statistics on a range of metrics.

Noction provides BGP network performance automation for enterprises. The company was in news last month for releasing IRP version 1.7, which features the new configuration UI.
