Offering newly enhanced security options for its cloud SIP Trunking service, IntelePeer (News - Alert), Inc., has expanded the security options of its CoreCloud UC SIP Trunking service. The company is now offering Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) encryption features.
The company boasts that its CoreCloud UC SIP Trunking service is the only secure SIP trunking offering in the United States that has acquired UC systems’ qualifications from Cisco, Avaya and Microsoft (News - Alert). Apart from protecting multimedia content, these security features ensure privacy and integrity of communications data.
These improved security options also eliminate the need for expensive T1 circuits or MPLS networks for SIP trunking connections. Instead, users can route communications securely over their existing data networks. IntelePeer's new SIP trunking redundancy option also automates the provisioning process, which simplifies the deployment of backup SIP trunks.
IntelePeer CoreCloud SIP Trunking service makes use of IntelePeer’s trusted cloud-based approach and aims to provide communications cost savings for companies. It is designed to work well with current communications systems and easily connects legacy and next-generation solutions.
“Ensuring the security and reliability of their communications is vital for our customers, who have embraced our encrypted SIP trunking services," said Margaret Norton, chief marketing officer at IntelePeer. "By automating the process for backup SIP trunking connections, we've made it easy and cost-effective to deploy redundant, secure cloud-based communications. This ensures that communications connections are fully available, providing additional levels of geographic redundancy for disaster preparedness.”
In 2012, the company first introduced CoreCloud UC SIP Trunking 3.0. This update brought together best-of-breed voice quality in HD audio with the high strength protection of four kilobyte, public key encryption to SIP trunk security.
