Vocalocity, a provider of business VoIP communications services, recently announced that it has been named in the Deloitte (News - Alert) Technology Fast 500 list for the third consecutive year. Deloitte has ranked Vocalocity 188th among the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America.

Vocalocity (News - Alert) provides hosted VoIP phone systems to small businesses in the U.S. and Canada. The company also develops in-house, proprietary technologies like mobile apps for iPhone (News - Alert) and Android and CRM plugins for Vocalocity Desktop. During the first half of 2013, Vocalocity reported revenue of $28 million and growing, suggesting an annual run rate greater than $56 million. First half 2013 revenues were 39 percent higher than the same period in the prior year.  The company was also recently included on the 2013 Inc. 500|5000 list and received the 2013 Internet Telephony Excellence Award.

Vocalocity was recently acquired by Vonage (News - Alert), a cloud-based communications services provider. The acquisition folded Vocalocity into Vonage, and is servicing SMBs under a new department, dubbed Vonage Business Solutions. The $130 million deal, with a little over 80 percent of it to be paid in cash, plans to expand Vocalocity’s customer referral program while continuing to service existing customers and prospects.
