NTT (News - Alert) Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced expansion of its unified communications services for Arcstar Global IP-VPN users.
Effective this week, the service introduces a new SIP Trunking Plan that allows users to dial external lines for high-quality, low-rate voice communications worldwide.
The SIP Trunking Plan is a one-stop, end-to-end solution, which unifies voice and data communications over Arcstar Global IP-VPN, reducing total cost of ownership (TCO). It also simplifies operation and maintenance. The service combines the necessary systems and hardware for voice and data, including network and devices (VoIP gateway).
Company officials said the service initially will be offered to customers in Singapore and then gradually expand to other regions. The company hopes to offer the service worldwide by March 2012. Incoming calls from external lines will be covered under the plan from April 2012 at the earliest.
Arcstar Unified Communications (News - Alert) Services currently offers IP-based internal dialing among global offices, including within Japan, under the Extension Plan. With the new Arcstar Unified Communications Services, customers can gain seamless unified voice, video, Web conferencing, voice messaging, presence and instant messaging for Arcstar Global IP-VPN.
NTT Com plans to add two new plans to Arcstar Unified Communications Services later this year: the Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) in August and Contact Center Plan in December. The Contact Center Plan will offer globally seamless SaaS (News - Alert) call-center services.
These services, when integrated with SIP Trunking Plan, will enhance the efficiency of global communications, company officials said.
Arcstar Unified Communications Services will be demonstrated during Interop (News - Alert) Tokyo 2011 in June at the Makuhari Messe exhibition complex near Tokyo, the company said in an announcement.
Recently, NTT Com announced it will purchase 70 percent of the issued shares of Frontline Systems Australia, a provider of IT infrastructure, IT consulting and managed services.
