Patton’s (News - Alert) new high-capacity SmartNode 10200 VoIP media gateway series for carriers and large enterprises is now available in India.
Announcing the launch in the Indian marketplace, PE-Inalp Networks notes that Patton’s latest member of the SmartNode family can support up to 2048 SIP/H.248 voice or T.30/T.38 fax calls, and T1/E1, DS3 or STM-1/OC3 trunks with SS7 signaling.
SmartNode 10200 VoIP media gateway series can provide transcoding among all voice codecs and signaling protocols. This capability ensures seamless interoperation with all major softswitches, notes PE-Inalp Networks, which distributes Patton Electronics' entire catalog of over 1000 network access, connectivity and Voice-over-IP products.
This announcement will enable carriers to easily transition their legacy service networks to IP-centric architectures, with SN10200 in their core network. Patton’s SN10200 can be deployed as a CPE for the delivery of high-density VoIP and TDM voice concurrently.
The SN10200 interconnects traditional and iPBX phone systems for large enterprises and call centers for the delivery of high-volume SIP trunking with up to 90 completed calls per second. “Today's announcement expands Patton's SmartNode portfolio far beyond its former 2-to-120-call range and brings an integrated carrier grade scalable media gateway platform to the Indian market,” said Aveek Roy, Patton's vice president for South Asia. “With its capability to expand from 16 up to 63 E1s and provide a single box solution for SS7, SIGTRAN, and ISDN, the SN10200 will address the entire media and signaling unified gateway equipment needs in India for both Carriers and Enterprises”
Patton was in news earlier this month when it announced its intent to expand the business VoIP industry in Europe with its new SmartNode gateway router solution that targets mid-sized enterprises and service providers.
