Hitachi has chosen Vocallo Media Gateway (News - Alert) (MGW) multi-core DSP platform from media processing and wireless solutions innovator Octasic.
This platform will be used in Hitachi’s hybrid IP-PBX (News - Alert) NETTOWER CX-01 ideal for large and medium-sized enterprises.
Octasic's Vocallo MGW will enable Hitachi to build the NETTOWER CX-01 and this in turn will help customers seamlessly combine both corporate data networks and TDM voice networks.

Hitachi’s NETTOWER CX-01 addresses the current enterprise requirements of reliability and flexible scalability. The solution is easily adaptable to changes in market demands thanks to its flexible architecture that allows easy software upgrades and addition o improvement of features.
As per the agreement between the two companies, Octasic's (News - Alert) multi-core processor has been integrated into NETTOWER CX-01 for voice media processing in VoIP.
Octasic has also been contracted to provide the complete software for its processor and is a single source vendor to Hitachi.
Hitachi is also in news as Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, has been assigned a patent (8,228,630).
This patent is developed by five co-inventors - Ravinder Singh Ajmani, Fremont, Calif., Andre S. Chan, Milpitas, Calif., Chisin Chiang, San Jose, Calif., Ryan Thomas Davis, San Jose, Calif., and Hitoshi Shindo, San Jose, Calif.
