Sangoma, a provider of hardware and software for enhancing IP Communications Systems (News - Alert), has revealed that its new software version 5.0 for the NetBorder SS7 VoIP Gateway, which is capable of significantly improving support for MEGACO and SIGTRAN and enables signaling, protocols and management interfaces to easily facilitate the integration of nearly any VoIP network into an SS7-based carrier network.
NetBorder SS7 to VoIP Gateway (News - Alert) allows telecom service providers to introduce VoIP in their networks in the most cost-effective, flexible way. By blending the software with Sangoma’s T1/E1 and transcoding boards on standard computing servers, a full-fledged SS7 to VoIP gateway, with the flexibility and expandability of software is realized.
With the latest version of the software, network operators have the means to interconnect with a variety of public and private networks by leveraging the software’s extended support for SIGTRAN and Megaco/H.248 signaling. Also included with the latest version is support for H.323 VoIP protocol so that older VoIP networks are also easily integrated.
