Patton (News - Alert) VoIP Gateways for SIP Communications ‘Futurizada’ for Spain
Back in October of this year Patton Electronics started shipping it IPv6-ready SIP-Trunking Gateways. Noteworthy at the time was that these are global solutions adapted to the specific needs of enterprises and service provider. The point was highlighted this week when the "futurizada" SmartNode media gateway product line was revealed to be making its debut (link is in Spanish) in Spain.
Patton is no stranger to the Spanish market. Patton-Inalp (the family-owned multi-national’s Spanish arm) entered the market in 2003 and made a splash in 2006 when its SmartNode 4960 PRI Gateway (News - Alert) first ignited interest in VoIP. With the new generation of SIP VoIP communications products that enable smooth transition to IPv6 they are helping assure that small to medium enterprise (SMEs) along with service providers have a smooth glide path to IPv6 that is high-performance as Internet addresses are transitioned to the new standard, as well as being optimized for the IPv6 future.Ready when you are
The new SmartNode PRI portfolio features lowered prices but with increased performance. In addition to the hardware "future proofed" for IPv6, the product line models 4970, 4980 and 4990 provide support for:
- PSTN transmission
- Increased survival data and voice transcoding
- SIP optional enhanced interoperability
- Models that are updatable and highly scalable in the range of 30 to 120 voice channels / calls that offer flexible growth
"Growing businesses especially appreciate the new units from 30 to 120 calls," says Tyler Delin, product manager for converged solutions in Internet protocols in Patton. "Many visitors in all events in which we participate include the double factor to be ready for IPv6 and upgradeability in call capacity is a key issue in their selection criteria."Based on the three-segment approach launched last year by Patton (T1/E1/PRI), the company offers each customer the most suitable option to meet specific customer needs. In fact, it is worth noting that the gateway SN4970, SN4980 and the router integrated access device (IAD) SN4990 are designed for maximum performance in SIP and unified communications. For more information, click here or contact the Department of Communication.
