Empirix Appoints Vice Presidents of Marketing

A Bedford, Massachusetts-based company that specializes in helping organizations adopt complex communications solutions has announced new executive appointments to help expand the firm’s position as a leading provider to network equipment manufacturers, service providers and enterprises.
Empirix has named Fred Sammartino as vice president of marketing and product management for the company’s Service Assurance business unit. In his new role, Sammartino will be in charge of extending the unit’s global reach. In addition, Empirix (News - Alert) appointed Timothy Moynihan as vice president of marketing for the firm’s Contact Center Solutions business unit. There, he will be responsible for strategic business planning and product revenue growth strategies, the company said.
In addition, Sammartino and Moynihan will work together to help build the company as a top provider to network equipment manufacturers, service providers and enterprises. Such responsibilities include providing executive leadership, managing individual business units and overseeing marketing objectives worldwide, the company said.

Sammartino, shown below, brings a solid technical background to Empirix, which includes expertise in Internet and wireless communications, VoIP and video services delivery and standards, the company said.
Prior to joining Empirix, Sammartino was vice president of marketing and product management for Ellacoya Networks (News - Alert), where he oversaw all aspects of corporate marketing, including market creation, product direction and market analysis. He earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his master's in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Meanwhile, Moynihan brings expertise in technology marketing in the U.S. and international markets. Previously, he worked as vice president of global marketing and channels at Envox (News - Alert) Worldwide where he developed and implemented company product management and product mar
keting and channel strategies for advanced inbound and outbound voice communications solutions. Before that, Moynihan, shown below, was director at Intel (News - Alert) Corporation where he created and implemented worldwide product launches and ecosystem and awareness building programs for rapid market adoption.
Moynihan earned his bachelor's degree at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and received his MBA from Purdue University.

The last major new hire was announced last fall when, Empirix brought in D’Anna as the company’s new CEO, TMC (News - Alert) reported.
