Onvoy, a subsidiary of Zoyo Group, has said that it is expanding coverage of its voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) service into New York, NY by adding 121 new rate centers.
This year, the company intends to expand its VoIP footprint, aggressively, said Fritz Hendricks, president at Onvoy, adding that the company is excited to begin the expansion in New York.
The addition of the new rate centers in New York is expected to enables the company’s customers to access an additional 20 million people.
The 100 percent IP based Onvoy’s solution runs on dedicated, fiber-based national network. Zoyo Group has provided this network, which interconnects rate centers from New York to Los Angeles.
In addition to providing high reliability, the network also offers the benefit of “exceptional” voice quality. According to company officials, in all likelihood the network will also serves as a platform for expansion in the near future.

Minnesota based Onvoy Voice Services offers a full suite of wholesale services to wireless, wireline, cable and broadband companies. The company provides tandem and transit, wholesale VoIP, long distance, SS7/database services, and call management solutions such as directory assistance and operator services. The VoIP service includes local and toll free DIDs, CNAM, E911, SMS, Long Distance and International calling.
The company is planning to provide nationwide VoIP coverage in the second quarter of this year, according to Hendricks.
