On November 13, iPass (News - Alert) Inc., a global Wi-Fi services provider of mobility services for enterprises and telecom service providers, formed a strategic partnership between iPass Unity Network Services and McGraw Communications (News - Alert). The signed agreement allows for the delivery of McGraw with iPass Unity's high-speed broadband technology and security to provide hybrid wide area network (WAN) and managed Wi-Fi services to meet rapidly changing customer demands and expectations.
A Fortune 5000 company for four years, McGraw Communications has been providing, since 1996, communications solutions to businesses in all sectors, from finance to healthcare and hospitality. The company uses a multicarrier approach to provide seamless services to their clients globally and ensures extensive support.
“This partnership provides a well-orchestrated enterprise Wi-Fi roaming experience and a WAN solution,” said Kevin Sheehan, director of strategic services for McGraw since February. The connectivity platform is tailored to fit the company’s specifications for high availability and complete security and will be able to support its patrons anywhere in the world.
As per the agreement, iPass Unity will provide the high speed connectivity and the engineering professional services that McGraw wishes to provide its clients, as well as network monitoring and a scalable WAN (Network as a Service) solution to support a growing enterprise business and agent community.
Having established this partnership with iPass, one of the world’s largest commercial Wi-Fi providers, McGraw has now access to a high performance network that can offer end-to-end services at a larger scale; this enables them to power their critical communications infrastructure, automate back office processes, take advantage of high-speed Internet services to bring enterprise cloud-based communications and computing strategies to life and deliver managerial services. Their customers will have easy-to-access connections to a global footprint of Wi-Fi hotspots and, therefore, a more reliable service wherever they are.
In sum, the combination of iPass Unity and McGraw Communications makes it possible to “deliver state-of-the-art broadband services for their business customer base, expanding the company's significant private WAN infrastructure footprint,” Linden concluded.
