Cambium Networks, a provider of wireless broadband solutions, will be displaying two of its wireless connectivity products at the AFCEA West conference in San Diego, Calif. which have been specifically designed with federal customers in mind.

The wireless connectivity solutions to be debuted include the Cambium PTP 600 Series of Point-to-Point (PTP) fixed broadband solution and the new Cambium RDB 350 Rapid Deployment Wireless Broadband product, designed for defense applications.

The company’s PTP 600 Series of wireless connectivity solutions have been certified by the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Information Systems Agency (News - Alert) (DISA). The PTP 600 Series, which includes the PTP 45600 product, is now an approved product on the Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Products List (APL).

With UC APL status, the PTP 600 Series now meets specifications demanded by critical military and federal applications including battlefield communications, video surveillance, convoy mobility and sensor networks, company officials said.

“Gaining UC APL status for our PTP 600 Series is a momentous achievement for our team at Cambium Networks and a huge endorsement of the quality and strength of our products, as well as the investments Cambium has made in creating products designed to meet federal and in-field requirements for use," said Tony Cecchin, vice president, Product & Business Operations, Cambium Networks, in a statement.

"In addition to our current deployments in federal agencies, UC APL listing status assures our customers that Cambium's products are designed with the interoperability and information assurance specifications required to meet military grade applications," Cecchin added.

The Cambium PTP 600 Series, according to company officials, is the only broadband wireless Fixed Network Element (F-NE) solution currently certified on the UC APL. It is widely used as the primary wireless transport solution for many theater-deployed situation awareness programs

for the U.S. ARMY, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.The PTP 600 Series of wireless connectivity solutions supports a variety of needs in the U.S federal, military and NATO agencies and public safety sectors, offers high connectivity and backhaul in challenging scenarios where having reliable and long-range access is critical for operations and delivers data rates up to 300 Mbps which can reach distances up to 124 miles.

On the other hand, the new Cambium RDB 350 Rapid Deployment Wireless Broadband product allows agencies to deploy a wide range of broadband applications such as 4G convoy mobility with speeds up to 80km per hour, garrison wireline replacement and video surveillance and sensor networks. The wireless connectivity solution delivers near- and non-line-of-sight point-to-multipoint connectivity in both at the halt (ATH) and on the move (OTM) environments.
