Verizon Wireless enterprise customers will now be able to leverage BoxTone’s (News - Alert) full lifecycle mobile management platform to secure, manage, monitor and support the leading mobile devices, users, applications and services.

Alan Snyder, chief executive officer of BoxTone said that enterprises have realized that a strategic mobile service management platform must go beyond basic MDM to address the entire mobility management challenge.

Officials with Verizon Wireless said that the company’s customers gain access to a comprehensive solution that goes far beyond Mobile Device Management (MDM), which is traditionally limited to the initial activation, provisioning, configuration and change tasks for a device.  

Company officials said that BoxTone takes the process further and delivers a unified mobile management platform that provides the enterprise a single point of control to address the full mobile lifecycle.  

The supported smartphone and tablet devices include BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad, Android (News - Alert) and Windows Mobile/Phone 7.

TMCnet recently reported that Verizon Wireless announced it has set up mobile communication stores in Tuscaloosa and Pleasant Grove, Alabama to help people in the storm-hit communities contact their loved ones.

The company has set up the mobile communication stores equipped with fully functional devices so residents can contact their family, friends and others free of charge from Verizon’s pool of working handsets. The store also features a battery charging station that allows customers to charge their cell phones and smartphones.
