octoScope (News - Alert), Inc., a company that offers wireless test solutions and services to companies building or deploying wireless communications devices and networks including LTE (News - Alert), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, has entered into a strategic manufacturing partnership with Columbia Tech for the turnkey production of octoBox series of small anechoic chambers.
Columbia Tech, which is an ISO9001, ISO3485 and ITAR certified facility, is a supplier of printed circuit board assembly, systems assembly and electronics contract manufacturing services for the military, communications and medical industries.
“We look forward to working with Columbia Tech to deliver the octoBox wireless testbed solutions to our customers,” said Fanny Mlinarsky (News - Alert), president of octoScope, in a statement.
Mlinarsky said that Columbia Tech is well-positioned to assure the successful production launch of the octoBox Stackable.
Officials with octoScope said that the octoBox design is optimized for stable and repeatable testing of modern wireless devices incorporating 2G/3G/LTE, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, GPS and other radios.
According to company officials, test applications for the octoBox testbed include cellular communications, wireless broadband, military, medical, robotics, smart grid, navigation, connected car and other emerging applications.
Company officials said that octoBox provides for ergonomic placement of test equipment, mounting of devices under test, and careful interconnection of high frequency test fixturing. Additionally, octoBox chambers can be stacked and effortlessly wheeled around the lab to create flexible test configurations.
With nearly perfect isolation and damping of reflections, the octoBox chambers enable multiple wireless devices to be easily interconnected in a variety of topologies and with controlled emulation of wireless channel conditions.
“What started out as a proposal for contract manufacturing services, quickly developed into a cohesive relationship. We are excited to add the octoBox wireless test solution to our production line,” said Bill Laursen, vice president sales and strategy at Columbia Tech.
Laursen also added that Columbia Tech is committed to delivering the highest quality of manufacturing and customer support to octoScope and octoBox users.
