EXFO (News - Alert), a provider of next-generation wireline and wireless telecommunications solutions for service providers and network equipment manufacturers, has just unveiled two new products within its copper access test solutions portfolio.
The new MaxTester 610 Copper Test Set and MaxTester 635 Copper, DSL and Multiplay Test Set solutions enable service providers to deploy the latest ADSL2+ and VDSL2 technologies while also helping them control costs. These solutions are designed to offer the most powerful, intelligent and cost-effective VDSL2 installation and repair testers currently available on the market.
The new DSL technologies enable service providers and equipment manufacturers to maximize the potential of copper through reuse. Previously available installation testers lacked the wideband capabilities necessary for testing VDSL2 circuits. The MaxTester series, which perfectly aligns with the newly released solutions, bridges this gap and addresses the needs of installers to more quickly identify and interpret circuit troubles and restore service.
MaxTester 610 and 635 are designed to power full fault location capabilities (TDR, RFL) and true 30 MHz wideband copper testing in support of ADSL2+ and VDSL2 technologies. Thanks to the integrated ADSL2+/VDSL2 modem, the MAX-635 supports bonding, vectoring and G.INP to deliver high-speed multiplay services over longer distances and/or at higher data rates.
Another robust feature of the new MaxTester unit is the unique SmartR test suite, which automatically runs key copper tests, and intelligently analyzes the results to enable technicians to quickly identify and locate faults more reliably than ever before. The technology directly leads to a significant increase in operational efficiency and provides a critical tool that can be leveraged to reduce repeat report rates.
“With their unique SmartRTM test approach, the new handheld MaxTester 610 and 635 bring second-to-none simplification for next-generation technologies—such as VDSL2—which are becoming more and more complex to deploy,” said Étienne Gagnon, EXFO’s vice president, Wireline Division and Corporate Marketing.
“These new test solutions will help network operators increase field-testing efficiency and reduce operating expenses by integrating more automation and intelligence into their test processes,” Gagnon added.
In another recent announcement, EXFO unveiled its new FTB-2200 Broadband Source (News - Alert), which is ideal for conducting high-accuracy field-based PMD measurements.
