Empower Software Solutions Reveals New Enhancements in its Workforce Management Solution, EmpowerWFM

Empower Software Solutions has enhanced its workforce management solution, EmpowerWFM. These new enhancements are aimed at improving usability and mobile functionality, and will be displayed at the Empower Software booth during the National Retail Federation's (NRF) BIG Show in New York. Functionality to support employee shift trades and additional task management integration capabilities are also part of this new and improved 2013 release.
Integration to Empower Software's task management solution, EmpowerTask, is also a core update in EmpowerWFM. The 2013 release enables clients to integrate tasks into individual manager to-do lists, provide visibility to task hours during the schedule tune-up/publish process, link tasks into enterprise data exchange mechanisms and integrate task-driven labor and volume driven labor into a single scheduling run.
The release is expected to offer functionality for bulletin board posting of two-way shift trades, bulletin posting of one-way trades and automatic approval of paid-time-off requests.
The solution’s new user interface has been designed to be compatible across all browsers and fully deployable on tablets. The solution is further embedded with new dashboard screens and a series of tools that boost usability of the solution.
In addition, new mobile functionality for managers and employees has been included as part of the release. Mobile capabilities are compatible with iOS, Windows and Android (News - Alert) devices.
Joe Olson, EVP and general manager of Enterprise Workforce Management, explained, "Our large enterprise clients, specifically retailers, asked for a wider range of mobile and task management capabilities in EmpowerWFM and we believe this release augments our current capabilities in those areas.”
At present, the solution enables employee-to-employee trades of shifts using the solution's schedule optimization engine and employee self-service components.
Recently, Empower Software Solutions was in news for appointing John Whisner as its Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Whisner will be responsible for the sales and marketing activities related to Empower Software's workforce and HR solutions, which include EmpowerTalent, the company's talent management solution; EmpowerTime, the company's core time and attendance solution; EmpowerHR/Pay, the company's HR and payroll platform; and EmpowerTax, Empower Software's payroll tax software and outsourcing business.
He will also focus on go-to-market strategies aimed at attracting clients looking for an alternative to large industry stalwarts, emphasizing Empower Software's client focus and technology. Lastly, Whisner will run the company's channel partner program.
