Chat Translation Provider ISI Unveils Upgrades

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

ISI (News - Alert) Translation Services, a provider of chat translation and localization solutions, has just released various technology advancements in order to improve the security and the speed of communications with its customers.

With these new capabilities, ISI’s project managers will gain access to much more efficient tools and technologies that power a boutique-level, concierge approach to customer service. The translation company serves some of the world’s largest multi-national healthcare and financial services companies.

The company has witnessed rapid growth over the past few months, mainly driven by the growing need for language services from regulatory reform in both healthcare and financial services. The company expanded its facility to include 31 full-time project management staff members, while strengthening its pool of domestic and international linguists by 60 percent.

The infrastructure upgrades to ISI’s security protocols ensure that every procedure – from e-mail to data storage, from project management to employee hiring – is secure and in full compliance with HIPAA, PHI, Title VI, CLAS and SB853 requirements, the company said in a press release.

Additionally, ISI’s Web-based project management portal recently received an SSL-Certificate.

The new technology upgrades complements its existing bonded T1 service, gigabit NAS server and newly enhanced firewall protection through a Sonicwall security solution.

The services powered by the company now boast business-class satellite WiMAX (News - Alert)-featured wireless broadband network, a licensed microwave backhaul network and high bandwidth wireless network, offering greater speed and security for the transmission of customer data.

Also, the Ethernet over Fixed Wireless (EoFW) will provide upload and download speeds of 10MBPS (megabits per second), while the TelePacific wireless network that ISI employs offers enhanced levels of encryption and security. TelePacific wireless now employs directional antennas throughout the network to ensure that wireless signals are only received at the locations where they are intended to eliminate interception.

Furthermore, the wireless traffic itself is encrypted over the air via proprietary encryption schemes employed directly in the radios and the network can easily be ramped up to meet future bandwidth requirements.

“We place the highest priority on security and timely fulfillment,” said Michael Bearden, VP of Client Relations at ISI, in a statement. “With these recent technology upgrades, we can continue to provide the highest quality language services for companies both large and small, and to handle the spikes in volume that the changing regulatory environment and open enrollment season inevitably bring.”

Back in November, ISI announced the launch of an on-demand Web-based language assessment tool specifically for hospitals and healthcare providers. Offered as part of the Interpreter Training & Assessment Program (ITAP), the tool provides healthcare facilities with on-demand access to tools that determine language ability for ad hoc interpreting.
