OnLive Debuts CloudLift Enterprise PaaS

Businesses looking for ways to deploy the most complex, latency-sensitive, compute-intensive applications and GIAs to mobile or office-based workforces, can now use the new platform as a service (PaaS) solution from OnLive called, CloudLift Enterprise.

This ground-breaking technology allows businesses to stream latency-sensitive Graphics Intensive Applications (GIAs), such as high-definition interactive demos, simulations and 3D programs, from the cloud to any device instantly, with unmatched control, security and support.

The newly released PaaS can be a fully managed and hosted solution on OnLive’s network of security-audited data centers, in a major public data center or cloud provider, or even on-premises. All solutions run on standard data center hardware with the added advantage of additional control and customization available from dedicated resources.

They want to provide spectacular real-time graphics, and responsive, fluid experiences regardless of the devices their audience chooses to use," said Mark Jung, Executive Chairman of OnLive.

With a full HD spectating stream delivered via streaming media servers, users can operate simulations, modeling, or surveillance applications, while secondary users can observe the stream for collaboration or training purposes. Users can hand off control of the application, allowing multiple parties to interact with the application.

Government or energy company workers can use this newly released CloudLift Enterprise to contact and process raw seismic data remotely, from a tablet or other mobile computing device, in the field. This solution is useful to officers on board military aircraft carriers to resolve system malfunctions by consulting 3D walkthroughs that are available, instead of having to consult a centralized computer system several decks away.

The new OnLive CloudLift Enterprise offers an easy on-boarding process that supports off-the-shelf SKUs of the most sophisticated software packages.

OnLive CloudLift Enterprise is currently introduced in the U.S. and Western Europe and supports multiple client platforms, including Windows, iOS, Android (News - Alert) and Mac. The company is offering the new CloudLift Enterprise as an on-premises solution or as a fully managed and hosted solution in OnLive's data centers.
