GoGrid and GenieDB recently announced a technology partnership to allow the beta-testing of the GenieDB Global Delivery Database solution within GoGrid's Multi-Data-Center Cloud. GenieDB is one of the experts in innovative distributed database technologies, and GoGrid is one of the premier providers of Public Cloud and Private Cloud Infrastructure solutions.
"Given the advances of Big Data, cloud computing and mobile, pressure is rapidly mounting as enterprises strive to meet the demands of an increasingly global user base, but struggle with the pain associated with scaling infrastructure,” said Cary Breese, CEO at GenieDB. “Teaming GoGrid's multi-data-center cloud service with GenieDB's Global Delivery Database establishes a distributed, available, local experience delivery platform. That platform provides the critical foundation for next-generation applications, and does so within a readily accessible framework that's easy to implement and maintain."
The GenieDB solution has been designed to enable the addressing of the growing demand for performance, redundancy and resiliency by organizations, while ensuring the expansion of database requirements with respect to diversity in locations for multi-data-center within the cloud.
Most businesses are strapped with non-scalable, location-restricted relational (SQL) databases. This makes it very difficult for these organizations to push for effective reconstruction and investment essential to deployment of scalable, non-relational (NoSQL) database solutions.
"GoGrid's high-performance cloud servers are perfect for database implementations across the globe,” said John Keagy, CEO and founder of GoGrid. “And when you add GenieDB's distributed model into the equation, you have a multi-data-center, replicated, scalable data architecture solution available from and across any of our locations worldwide."
GenieDB has incorporated in-demand capabilities of both NoSQL and SQL within its globally distributed database solution, which works within MySQL, a leading open source database.
Leveraging the solution, companies can scale their existing applications globally without the need for replacing their current database infrastructure. Enabling replication and distribution across a wide area network (WAN), the GenieDB framework is ideal within cloud environments and a perfect solution for customers of GoGrid keen on deploying data-driven applications across the multi-data-center GoGrid cloud.
