As the second largest data center services provider in New York, FiberMedia Group LLC is different than any other provider. Why? Because the company’s CEO Michael Bucheit runs FiberMedia based on key factors including Market Leadership: Market Innovation, Cost Leadership, and Customer Intimacy.
FiberMedia provides Intelligent Data Center Solutions to enterprise customers that deliver the resiliency and security of physical infrastructure and the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of the Cloud.
With locations in six markets offering primary and disaster recovery services, FiberMedia has five data centers in NYC area in Secaucus NJ, Westchester NY, Manhattan NY, Brooklyn NY, Jersey City NJ, and Cleveland OH.
“With our ‘New York centricity’ we have development three verticals, media, healthcare and finance,” Bucheit told TMCnet in an exclusive interview last week.
Taking an alternative approach, FiberMedia delivers content on time in real-time, matching content against data bases in the background.
“We have learned that the reason we win business in this competitive market is because once we have someone looking at us, we have a high close rate because of trust,” said Bucheit.
So, how exactly does FiberMedia have such a trusted reputation? The answer according to Bucheit, is, with a vertical sales force and specialized engineers that work together productively and communicate effectively.
“We excel in managing facilities with facility managers who are well-versed with engineers in the business who know what it takes to stress a communication platform,” he said.
Along with trust, the company has also been developing its ability to understand customer intimacy. FiberMedia has learned customer intimacy means 24/7 support and creating open communication with its customers. “We make customers aware and let them have insight into that,” said Bucheit.
So, Fiber Media is developing an element of a portal that allows you to know infrastructure and how well it’s been run, the data center heat levels, a ticketing system, and more.
“We are investing heavily to make this much more robust, creating a lifetime customer, self-empowerment. The more self sufficient, the more successful the product,” he said.
These days, Fiber Media is working to continuously evolve the customer experience while making that experience relevant to the customer.
Bucheit said, “If we continue to communicate our strength as one of those companies committed to providing to NY, we will have a good chance at growing.”
Last week, FiberMedia launched Project Velocity, an incentive program for the agent and reseller communities, which came on the heels of FiberMedia’s receipt of the SSAE 16 certification. These days, FiberMedia is pursuing the agent and reseller communities by introducing this promotion, with increased and accelerated commission payments on bundled service offerings for colocation, managed cloud services.
John Panzica, SVP of sales and marketing at FiberMedia, said, “We are doubling agent commissions from 10 percent to 20 percent while maintaining competitive pricing and delivering high velocity service.”
Project Velocity has been extended to the existing agent and reseller communities and is also available to new agents and resellers.
