CipherCloud Moves to Solidify the Security on Cloud Datacenters with the CipherCloud Connect AnyApp

By David Gitonga, TMCnet Contributing Writer

CipherCloud, a reputable provider of cloud encryption solutions, has introduced the CipherCloud Connect AnyApp which encrypts data that is being transported, in-use and at-rest for a good number of public and private cloud web applications without degrading their functionality.

In a statement, CipherCloud said, “The CipherCloud connect AnyApp offers businesses cloud encryption for all types of data, regardless of whether it’s being used with infrastructure-as-a-service or software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service applications.” As a result of this, companies can now deploy encryption at a jiffy hence revolutionizing cloud security.

With this latest addition to the CipherCloud Platform, administrators can specify what fields of a webpage they want encrypted and have their desire actualized without the use of any additional applications or client software requirements. This is in lieu with CipherCloud Platform’s vision of reducing encryption complexities by allowing quick deployment and management of encryption across multiple cloud applications via a single system.

According to the research director at Gartner (News - Alert), Inc. Lawrence Pingree, "Cloud encryption gateways that can be configured to encrypt or tokenize data are needed to reduce risk and allow businesses and governments to go beyond the firewall and adopt public and private clouds applications."

Commenting on the necessity of a new encryption system, a demand that has been met by CipherCloud, chairman and founder, The Ponemon Institute (News - Alert), Larry Ponemon said, “The millions of breached records that cost businesses and governments billions each year give testament to the fact that encryption has been unavailable or out of reach for many applications.”

Results of a research conducted by Thales (News - Alert) and Ponemon Institute research showed that while a good number of organizations don’t really care how their cloud based data is secured, using proper encryption can be a strong incentive to make those who care move to the cloud and prevent losses due to data theft. These two improvements have the potential to wipe away losses to the tunes of billions of dollars due to data breach liabilities and the need for infrastructure for self data storage.

The revamped CipherCloud Platform will definitely offer better services to the cloud applications under its care and it is with no doubt that its increased reputation is bound to get her a whole load of new customers to deal with.
