Savvis, a company specializing in cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions, has signed a strategic agreement with Singapore Exchange to provide dual-site hosting capabilities to financial services clients.

With this plan coming to effect, both Savvis and SGX Clients will now enjoy enterprise-Class IT infrastructure solutions and low-latency connectivity access.

"This strategic arrangement with SGX reaffirms Savvis' leadership in financial services as well as our commitment to expanding our presence in Singapore," said Mark Smith, managing director for Savvis Asia. "Together, we look forward to providing Singapore's financial market participants with secure, reliable enterprise-class solutions."

Financial services clients can now have a single point of contact for a suite of Singapore-based IT infrastructure solutions that includes managed hosting, colocation and network services, and low latency connectivity to market services.

"We are delighted to work closely with Savvis in promoting our ultra-low latency colocation services and to offer dual-site hosting to financial institutions, which is ideal for business continuity," said Tinku Gupta, head of market data and access at SGX.

The Savvis-SGX arrangement offers clients the flexibility to approach Savvis as a service provider for ultra-low latency colocation services in the SGX Data Centre, in addition to dual-site general hosting and network services.

This initiative enables customers to house their technology in two Singapore data centers, each connected to leading global exchanges and financial institutions.

Both sites have also reportedly undergone successful third-party threat and vulnerability risk assessments, ensuring the Savvis-SGX dual-site hosting solution will meet the security and resiliency requirements of financial institutions.

Savvis is a CenturyLink company, the third-largest telecommunications company in the United States, recognized well in the network services market by technology industry analyst firms.

CenturyLink provides data, voice and managed services in local, national and select international markets through its high-quality advanced fiber optic network and multiple data centers for businesses and consumers.
