HCL blu Enterprise Cloud service has achieved VMware vCloud Powered status, illustrating to customers that the company’s cloud services are underpinned by VMware’s virtualization and cloud computing technology, namely VMware vSphere and VMware vCloud Director.

Officials with HCL Infosystems said the company, which is a member of the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP) in India, provides its VMware vCloud Powered service as a set of cloud computing services across a common platform, supporting the largest set of existing applications and offering distinctive application mobility uniquely available from VMware.

“We at HCL Infosystems value our relationship with VMware and are happy to be awarded vCloud Powered status. This validation strengthens our longstanding partnership with VMware,” Neeraj Jaitley, president of enterprise solutions, HCL Infosystems, said in a statement.

“We have been offering best in class cloud services to our customers and this development enables us to offer cloud services on proven VMware cloud infrastructure to a larger number of enterprises located across the country,” said Jaitley.

“The VMware vCloud Powered program was developed to enable our service provider partners to differentiate themselves and help them bring their enterprise-class cloud services to market in this competitive landscape,“ added T Srinivasan, managing director, VMware India & SAARC.

Company officials pointed out that the customers of HCL Infosystems have the ability to move workloads from their VMware vSphere-based virtualized or private cloud environment to the VMware vCloud Powered service and back again. This application portability is a key differentiator allowing customers to achieve the flexibility and security they need while enabling increased IT agility.

According to company officials, HCL Infosystems sought VMware vCloud Powered validation in order to significantly reduce the total cost of ownership and provide a complete managed IT services ecosystem for customers.

Thanks to being a validated provider, HCL Infosystems can now provide users with enhanced responsiveness and agility, and reduced IT costs through increased consolidation, task automation and simplified management.
