Gigamon (News - Alert), the global provider and market icon in traffic visibility technology solutions, has for the last eight years built its reputation as an icon in traffic visibility, with a number of Fortune 100 companies among its portfolio of clients.
Through patented technologies, Gigamon products offer high availability to dense network traffic for security and traffic management.
In addition to its existing traffic visibility network products, the company has announced a new high-density 40GB blade called GigaPORT-Q08 for the GigaVUE H Series Chassis.
The new blade will further address the scalability and visibility needs of data center managers looking to resolve increased traffic challenges to their data centers. The blades represent the latest generation of purpose-built technology that intelligently delivers monitored traffic to the appropriate management systems.
The GigaPORT-Q08 blade will also offer pervasive visibility across dense data center network architectures, such as in the case of end-of-row (EoR) and top-of-rack (ToR) deployments.
According to the director of product management at Gigamon, Huy Nguyen, Gigamon’s scalable, pervasive and intelligent monitoring infrastructure can effectively and efficiently manage these growing environments, and the 40GB solution will help deliver the next wave in higher density deployments while enabling pervasive visibility for both physical and virtual networks.
The GigaPORT-Q08 blade supports eight 40GB ports effectively quadrupling the GigaVUE H Series 40GB connectivity density, while supporting direct-connection to monitoring, management and security tools.
GigaPORT-Q08 blade can also aggregate multiple links with a GigaVUE-TA1 traffic aggregation node at the top of each rack, and send the traffic through the 40GB ports at the end of the row, yielding a consolidated and efficient visibility architecture.
Gigamon delivers this visibility to manage, analyze and secure complex systems through its patented and unique Traffic Visibility Fabric. The need for a converged and single platform to simplify and automate the distributed traffic volume and speeds is what is driving the evolution of the Visibility Fabric.
