Vodafone Netherlands selects Composite Data Virtualization Platform

Composite Software, a company that provides data virtualization solutions, announced that its Composite Data Virtualization Platform has been selected by Vodafone (News - Alert) Netherlands.

The officials from Vodafone Netherlands said the solution will help the company expand its current computing infrastructure consisting of a Teradata data warehouse with 20 terabytes of customer data, Ab Initio for data integration and SAP (News - Alert)/Business Objects for reporting and analysis, providing a faster, more agile data provisioning service to its reporting teams and business units.

Since the Composite Data Paltform would have prototyped and put those data services into operation, the outsourcing of the development for the ETL will turn out to be much easier. The Composite Data Virtualization Platform’s streamlined approach to data integration simplifies information access, delivers faster time-to-solution and saves money.

“With Composite, we are confident to bridge the gap between the increasing impatience of our business users in exploiting more and more data and giving them the ability to do so,” said Michael Hansen, Vodafone Netherlands manager business intelligence competence center, responsible for BI strategy and architecture. “In addition, we feel it is important to have an in-house capability like Composite next to outsourcing capabilities like classical data provisioning and information exploitation activities.”

“We are pleased to welcome Vodafone Netherlands to the growing list of global telecommunications providers who have discovered the business agility afforded by the Composite data virtualization solution,” said Ché Wijesinghe, composite software EVP, worldwide field operations, in a statement.

Meanwhile, Composite Software CEO Jim Green recently presented the company's strategic vision for data virtualization and analytics enablement, along with Robert Eve, executive VP of marketing who will recap Composite's 2012 successes and 2013 plans on January 4 to the Boulder BI Brain Trust (BBBT), a gathering of leading BI analysts, experts and practitioners founded by Dr. Claudia Imhoff, president of Intelligent Solutions, Inc. Joining Green and Eve from Composite will be Executive VP Marc Breissinger and Kevin Ott, senior VP, product development.
